Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has reflected on her oral sex scene in “Her.”
The 2013 film starred the actress as the artificially intelligent assistant Samantha who becomes intimate with the film’s protagonist Theodore portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix.

In a recent episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Johansson discussed the oral sex scene she filmed in the movie “Her.” The actress told podcast hosts Dax Shepard and Monica Padman that she was irritated after hearing her voice fake an orgasm.
“You definitely don’t want to sound like you’re having an orgasm. You definitely don’t want to hear the sound of you having a fake orgasm — ew,” he said, per Inr. “It’s so vile,” he continued. “It’s very strange.”
Directed by Spike Jonze, “Her” is a science fiction romantic drama film starring the protagonist Theodore played by Phoenix and Johansson as an artificially intelligent assistant in his new operating system named Samantha.
In the movie, Theodore befriends Samantha and falls in love with her. The pair then became intimate through oral sex in which Samantha pretended to be human. Johansson’s character is portrayed as an on-screen voice, which is seen fading to black during oral sex scenes.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Johansson shares more details about how Jonze filmed the oral sex scenes. The actor shared that Phoenix first shot his part separately. Afterwards, the couple filmed the scene together while consciously trying to time the sound of their sex in line with the script.
The actor also shared that Phoenix also had his own reservations about the scene, saying that the actor had to leave the room for a while when it got too intense for him. “We were trying to go through a take, and he, like, lost it,” he said. “He left the studio. He needed a break.”
