The 31-year-old actress and singer stepped up her style as she stepped onto the 2023 MTV VMAs red carpet in a barely there red beaded gown by Oscar de la Renta. The floral-themed red dress featured a halter neck with a plunging neckline that showed off Gomez’s ample assets. The skirt is also handmade with beaded flowering vines, with a thigh-high slit left open at the front.
Gomez kept it simple, accessorizing with matching red heels with a hint of neutral eye makeup. She looked shiny and glamorous, with her hair open and straight, parted in the middle, and matched her lip shade to the dress for a perfect pout. It doesn’t get much better than this as fans exclaim, “RED never looked so good!”
The “Only the Murders in the Building” star looked absolutely stunning at the VMAs, as fans called her “Slay-lena,” and said she was “the queen of their hearts!” She kept her diamond jewelry to match the theme as well, opting to go with single earrings, rings and bracelets.

Gomez also took the stage to accept the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, along with Rema for their song “Calm Down,” in the Best Afrobeats category. As this particular category is very competitive, it was a big win for Gomez and Rema who appreciated the same in their speech, thanking everyone for making it happen. The “Single Soon” singer also posted a photo of them sitting together on her Instagram Stories, as she smiled playfully in the VMA snap.
Before winning, Rema spoke to “Pitchfork” about the same, saying, “‘Bertanang’ is about the events that led me to find love at that time. It started at a party where I saw a girl who stood out from the other girls, so I felt like shooting my shot. We talked and danced…but his friends wouldn’t let me get close, which killed the mood, but after that, when they weren’t there, we kept in touch and said hi.”
