In the conversation, the “Abbott Elementary” star shared that his son had been in an accident during his college days, resulting in a concussion that significantly affected his brain, and that he later suffered multiple gunshot wounds during a near-fatal robbery incident. In the hours after his famous mother allowed an interview and opened up about the incident, Etienne was flooded with calls and messages of concern. Therefore, he considered it important to calm the situation by using Twitter to explain what happened.

“It was kind of crazy because I had to jump in here and explain myself. But apparently, there are several news articles and blogs with headlines from interviews that my mom talked about my DUI and when I got shot. And in the traumatic experience that we both had to go through at that time.”

He explained that he was in good health and that the crash and robbery happened around nine to ten years ago, stressing that they were two separate incidents that did not happen simultaneously. Nevertheless, those experiences have significantly shaped her life and journey, ultimately leading her to her current venture with her non-profit, WalkGoodLA.
At this point, Etienne flipped his camera to show off the organization’s proud new “creative health space” centered around “community healing” and “community building.”
“I am truly grateful that I am alive. Because I might not be here, sharing this video and talking to you all. I appreciate all the love, and just know that it took me a lot of work to get to where I am now. Lots of love, lots of prayers, and lots of healing. So, thank you, everyone,” he said as he clicked off.

Then he was robbed, and they shot him three times. He woke up in hospital with two bullets in his leg and a gash on his forehead where the bullet had grazed him.”
