Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Breaks Silence After Suffering ‘Severe Stroke’

Concerns about the health of Snoop Dogg’s daughter Cori Broadus have been raised as she recently suffered a “major stroke” amid her ongoing battle with lupus.

The 24-year-old opened up about the shocking health scare, sharing how sad she was to endure the terrifying experience at such a young age.

Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Cori Shares Emotional Update From Hospital

Cori, the daughter of the Hip-hop icon and his wife Shanté Broadus, updated her Instagram Story with two photos detailing her health emergency in the hospital.

The first image is a shot of his hospital bed alongside the heartbreaking announcement: “I had a massive stroke and I started crying when they told me.”

The second picture is a selfie of Cori in a pink hoodie and nose mask. However, his face is covered by the overlay text. He lamented his situation in the caption, writing: “Like I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to accept all this.”

Although she did not share the cause of the stroke or how long she would stay in the hospital, the incident was not the media personality’s first health battle. Cori was diagnosed with lupus at the age of six, a difficult journey that included a suicide attempt in 2021.

However, the 24-year-old raved about getting better in September 2023 after taking a holistic approach to his health. “I’ve gotten better, better than I’ve ever been,” she told PEOPLE. “I stopped taking all my medicine like five months ago. I just do everything naturally, all kinds of herbs, seaweed, tea.”

“I started exercising, drinking a lot of water. So now I feel like my body is like, okay, this is a new program, and she’s getting used to it,” she continued, noting she made the transition after a long period of medication left her “feeling like I was going crazy.” In Cori’s words:

“I have been on medication since I was 6 years old, dependent on these medications my whole life. So I want something better for myself. I want to change because it just becomes a lot. I am only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills daily. So I’m a bit cold turkey.”

Despite the significant progress she’s made since turning to holistic methods, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” hitmaker’s daughter admits there are more lifestyle changes needed to improve her health.

“It’s a constant learning process because there’s so much more I can do,” she explains, admitting that she struggles with “eating badly” and “not getting proper rest.” However, he understands that his health cannot do a “360 turn” and focuses on daily progress instead of feeling overwhelmed.

“I have days where I’m sick, but I’m still blessed and able to do what I love to do and tell my story,” Cori shared. “But then there are days I’m like, ‘Wow, I wish I wasn’t sick. What would my life be like if I was just a normal girl?’ It’s part of being human. You’re going to have bad days, you’re not always going to have good days.”

Cori Broadus Opens Up About Her Kidney Biopsy Results

Last February, Snoop Dogg’s daughter shared the results of her kidney biopsy with fans on her Instagram Story. Medical tests involve removing a small piece of kidney tissue to analyze possible abnormalities or disease.

Fortunately, the results were positive, with Cori explaining medical lingua to fans with screenshots of her notes. In the picture, he explained his kidneys were at a level 3 out of 5, with five being the worst and three being considered mild but still active.

Stage 3 is a better option than stage 4, because that means Cori needs chemotherapy. However, doctors are considering putting him on Benlysta, a treatment option given via monthly injections or weekly injections.

The media personality stated that doctors are treating him “aggressively” for his safety as his kidneys were once stage 4. He also stated that his current stage is reversible and insisted his kidneys are fine despite being “inflamed.”

As for her treatment, Cori concluded that she would continue to take Cell Cept and have her blood pressure checked daily. In her next post, she shared a photo of herself posing outside in a gray workout ensemble and captioned the photo: “Slowly but surely getting there ? on vacation and still working.”
