Sofia Vergara has opened up about her favorite thing about New York City – men.
The actress, best known for her role as Gloria Delgato-Pritchett on the hit “Modern Family,” shared that the city is crawling with more options for her as a single woman. It comes months after Vergara and actor Joe Manganiello released a joint statement announcing the “difficult decision” to divorce.

Vergara expressed enthusiasm about the various eligible men in NYC during Tuesday’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC. The 51-year-old actress, looking stunning in a black sheath dress, shared her love for the city and her vibrant energy with Fallon, saying:
“I think you have more options with men too. I’m single now. So in New York there are more people, not only like actors, write[rs] or director. I think there’s something bigger… I’m going to spend more time in New York.”
She redoubled her intention to sample the Big Apple’s many options when Fallon told her that the city’s food was good, too. As Vergara jokingly responded to the audience’s delight, “There’s good food for you to go out on a date. Better, yes.”
Although excited at the prospect of dating again, the “America’s Got Talent” judges aren’t fans of the weather in NYC. Speaking to Fallon about her struggles with the cold weather, she revealed:
“I have [a] panic attack when I woke up this morning and I saw the snow, and I was like, ‘We have to cancel this whole world tour for ‘Griselda’ because…I don’t think I can do it.'”
As noted, Vergara’s passionate chat with Fallon follows the end of her seven-year marriage to Manganiello. Manganiello filed divorce papers in Los Angeles County Court, citing “irreconcilable differences” for the split, with the surprising detail that the couple will officially separate on July 2, 2023.
The “True Blood” actor noted the prenuptial agreement in the filing, stating that spousal support will be determined by the document, and mentioning that child support does not apply because they have no minor children together.
Regarding the announcement of their separation, Manganiello and Vergara issued a joint statement in June 2023 that read:
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people who love and care deeply for each other, we respectfully ask that you respect our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
At the time, insiders revealed that the couple had split up, trying to work through issues, but their priorities differed, leading to challenges in their relationship.

The Blast recently reported that Vergara talked about facing public scrutiny after her divorce from Manganiello. He shared that because he is a celebrity, he expects media attention, admitting that it is an inevitable aspect of being in the public eye. In his words:
“You’re out there, and people know that’s part of being a celebrity. I knew it would happen. You can’t hide that.”
As for how she handles the public spotlight, Vergara can only express her gratitude for the respectful and thoughtful media coverage she’s received.
“It’s not bad. I think, you know, I have to say the press is very respectful and very kind. And I think they’re going to invent more things, and you know how it usually is. I was shocked and, you know, they, they just said what it is and, and that’s it,” the Colombian-American said.
Vergara and Manganiello first met at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, where they were introduced by former “Modern Family” co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson. However, nothing came of it due to Vergara’s engagement to Nick Loeb.
Things quickly changed after he announced their split a few weeks later, prompting Manganiello to eagerly ask Ferguson for his number. After several months of dating, the “Magic Mike” star proposed on December 24, 2014, during a Christmas break at the Hotel St. Regis in Hawaii.
The couple exchanged vows on November 22, 2015, in a beautiful ceremony at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
