The female musician has made several appearances at Chiefs games to cheer on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and is often featured in these moments. This has led to a reported 63% increase in female viewers aged 18–49 for the team and a three-fold increase in ‘Heads’ web searches and Heads sales on Stubhub.
Despite all these positives, Dungy feels Swift is the reason why many people are no longer interested in watching football. He believes his presence at games “disappoints” NFL fans by distracting from the results on the field.
“That’s what frustrates people with sports right now,” Dungy said of Swift’s romance with the Chiefs tight end, according to the news outlet. “There’s a lot of outside stuff that comes in. The entertainment value and different things that take over from what’s actually happening on the field.”
