While talking to E! News, Nick and Vanessa talk about how traveling together changed the dynamics of their relationship. The two got married in 2015 and, over the years, have co-hosted several reality tv shows.

During the interview, Vanessa, who recently signed a partnership with hotels.com, admitted that their time together revealed a part of them that they didn’t know before. One of them is Nick’s strange habit of moving furniture around in hotel rooms. The host of the show told E!“I found out that when we go to hotels, Nick likes to move the furniture around.”

Vanessa continued, “If the TV doesn’t match the bed, she’ll move either the dresser with the TV or if the TV is mounted on the wall, then she’ll move the bed.” Nick revealed that it drives him “crazy” when wardrobes don’t line up properly with the wall.

While Vanessa joked that she usually just sits on the sidelines while Nick renovates the room, the show’s host revealed that she has her own unconventional habits while on vacation.

He revealed that he prefers to remove the blanket while they sleep and place it at the end of the bed. “I don’t sleep with a blanket, so we pull it up,” Vanessa said. “I pulled it down, and I folded it at the bottom of the bed, and I knew I was on vacation.”

The reality star revealed something similar in an earlier interview with US Weekly. She claims she has a “weird OCD habit” and likes to “fold my napkin three times, in a triangle, after I eat.”

The reality show host is currently giving young couples “Cuffing Season Stays” to take a weekend trip together and test the strength of their love. The offer is in partnership with Hotels.com and will select five couples who have been together for six months or less to vacation at selected properties.

According to Vanessa, the purpose of the mini vacation is to show exactly where the cracks are in the relationship.

“You have to be able to just hang,” the actor said E!. “Even if you go on a scheduled trip and you’re a type A, that’s all good, but just don’t complain and don’t get angry. If you complain about everything on vacation, then I will check the attitude.”

The show’s host also previously revealed that going on a trip with someone is a quick way to determine if you’re compatible with that person. “You learn more about your partner’s interests and routines during the weekend than any dating profile will tell you,” he says. “You also learn a lot about yourself and your wants and needs. It is the ultimate chemical test.”

Vanessa And Nick Lachey Attend Couples Therapy

While talking to Parents today, Nick revealed that he and Vanessa attended couples therapy together, and it affected them in more ways than one. She says it helps them “actively listen to each other and give feedback” and be better parents to their children.

“We went before we got married, and we still go to this day. I think that’s an important part of maintaining a strong relationship,” says Nick. “Your kids are absorbing your energy and enthusiasm, and if it’s strained and it’s not working , they’re going to accept it. That’s to their detriment.”

“The Ultimatum” host went on to compare couples therapy to being an athlete and said being the best is more important than trying to keep things a secret. “Marriage is challenging – and getting good advice from an unbiased third party is one of the healthiest things you can possibly do,” adds Nick.
