THIS Actor Tells Fans Why He’s Now Feeling OLD!

Mark Hamill may be done with portraying Luke Skywalker but he’s certainly not done with humor, or hope.

Or rather Bob Hope, as the “Star Wars” actor took to social media to tell his fans why he feels old now!

Mark Hamill Wants to Stop It About Luke Skywalker

Mark Hamill feels Luke Skywalker is done, even though Star Wars fans loved the ageless CGI-assisted Hamill playing Skywalker with baby Yoda in “The Book of Boba Fett.”

We also saw Skywalker again in the episode “The Mandalorian” and while we loved the faceless, masked Pedro Pascal, there was something about Mark Hamill even though we didn’t “see” his version of Skywalker from 1983 to 2015. There’s something to be said for a revival Hamill’s pop culture and no one wants his version of Skywalker to be retired anytime soon, although he raised doubts that he could return as a Force ghost in Daisy Ridley’s recently announced Star Wars movie, starring Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

In a recent appearance on CBS, Hamill expressed otherwise, saying, “I have my time, and that’s good. But that’s enough.”

He later amended his statement slightly, adding, “Well, you never say never. I just don’t see any reason to. Let me put it this way, I mean, they have so many stories to tell, they don’t need Luke anymore.”

But we need Luke Skywalker (and baby Yoda, of course)!

Feeling Old And Little “Hope”!

Mark Hamill and Harrison FordInstagram | Mark Hamill

Hamill is friends with Harrison Ford and the two of them often take each other’s fancy for the sweetest things, even though Ford is a fun guy! It seems that Hamill is feeling a little old now, but it’s not because of his 71 years or his old Hollywood scene. Actor, voice artist, and writer taken to Twittertold her fans, “You don’t know how old people feel until you meet a 24-year-old couple who’ve never heard of Bob Hope.”

For those of us who are more in line with “24 years old”, Bob Hope is an American comedian, entertainer and actor, who hosted the Academy Awards 19 times. He starred in several musical comedy series, often called the “Road” series with Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour, and passed in 2003, aged 100!

Fans were quick to flock to Hamill’s side, writing in some witty comments:

“24 years old is not true. No one was born after the year 2000. Everyone is just lying.”

“When I was a kid in the 80s, I thought Bob Hope and the Pope were the same person. The name rhymed and we were both white men frowning with mysterious power.”

“To be fair, most 24-year-olds haven’t heard of hope either.”

“I’ve met a 24-year-old who doesn’t know who Mark Hamill is … I feel bad for that person”

Fortunately, his fans have heard about his best friend, Harrison Ford, someone who Hamill thinks “still gets it.”

Fans chimed in to tell their “feeling old” stories too, as many named other famous celebrities that younger people have never heard of, such as David Bowie, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, and even Pearl Jam!

More of his social media followers wrote in their anecdotes as well:

“I told my 21-year-old daughter to read the WaPo article about Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova and she said, ‘Who?’ I died a thousand little deaths from parenting failure.”

“I’ll look at it and raise you: showed one of my colleagues a picture of Peter Cushing from the movie ‘The House That Dripped Blood’ and he looked at me and asked if that was Nicholas Cage. A small part of me withers and dies.”

Several other fans echoed the same story”

“Or an 18-year-old who thinks a Furby is called a chinchilla doll.”

“I got one of these. About 5 years ago I brought ‘The Matrix’ to a kid at work and he said he never saw it because he didn’t like old movies…”

“I feel that way when someone says they’ve never heard of John Wayne, Roy Rogers, or The Lone Ranger…and I’m in my 30s!”

So that’s it Mark Hamill, we’re LONG! You still rock!
