This Is Why Margot Robbie Called Gal Gadot “Dorky”

This Is Why Margot Robbie Called Gal Gadot “Dorky”

Margot Robbie may be the perfect Barbie for Greta Gerwig and the audience, but she doesn’t really want to play the part. In fact, she thinks Gal Gadot would make the perfect Barbie and has a “silly” reason behind her thought process.

Margot Robbie Feels Gal Gadot Is “Dorky” Enough To Be Barbie

Margot Robbie calls Gal Gadot "dorky" but in a good wayMEGA

When Margot Robbie first envisioned the “Barbie” movie, selling it to Mattel and Warner Bros. as a movie that would make a billion dollars (which it did), she just wanted to make the movie. As a producer, he played in Greta Gerwig, who later wrote the script, imagining Robbie as the perfect stereotypical Barbie.

In the near-fall of Babylon, no one is ready to stand up to Barbie. There have been attempts before, with the likes of Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway. As a producer, Robbie felt Barbie would be a sell-out so when all other projects failed, he took her on.

Even so, she’s still looking for the perfect Barbie, and the only actress she sees with the right Barbie “energy” is Gal Gadot. Robbie admitted, speaking to Vogue, “Gal Gadot is the energy of Barbie. Because Gal Gadot is so beautiful, but you don’t hate her for being beautiful, because she’s so sincere, and she’s so passionately good, it’s almost ridiculous.”

Of course, Robbie meant it as a major compliment when he praised Gadot’s beauty, saying, “It’s like before being a jerk.”

That said, Gadot is unavailable. Although Robbie and Gerwig found their Barbies in Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne, Alexandra Shipp, Kate McKinnon, and others, they still needed a major Barbie. Gerwig insisted, as Robbie recalled, “He was like, ‘No, I really want to write this for you. And he wrote me an amazing part, so I’m very grateful.”

So is the audience!

On the other hand, Gal Gadot adores Margot Robbie

While Gadot can’t star in “Barbie” and “Wonder Woman 3” also seems to be in limbo, she’s still one busy lady. Her latest Netflix movie, “Hearts of Stone” seems to be doing well and according to an interview in Flaunt magazine, she just finished playing Disney villain, The Evil Queen, in the new musical adaptation of Snow White. Apparently, Gadot finds the “evil” role “fun and delicious” to play.

When the topic of Margot Robbie wanting her to play Barbie came up, Gal Gadot was all praise, saying. “I love Margot. [She] is one of those women you just want to be friends with.”

Gadot went on to say that she saw her “a week ago” gushing, “She’s so funny, friendly, fun and smart and obviously talented. She brings so much to the table. I’d love to do anything with Margot and I’m so excited [by her comments]. He warms my heart with everything he says about me. I’m really excited for them, and I’m really excited for Barbie.”

Gal Gadot Sequel “Wonder Woman 3” & “Barbie” In Limbo

Gadot recently made some comments about “Wonder Woman 3” saying, “I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran, and what they told me, and I quote: ‘You’re in the best hands. We will develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman— you have nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”

That said according to new information, it looks like this may not be the case. According to Variety magazine, sources say a third “Wonder Woman” movie is not in development at DC Studios. Further, the source claims that Gunn and Safran have no current plans for any “Wonder Woman” projects in the new DC Universe other than the previously announced “Paradise Lost” prequel series for Max. However, with the SAG-AFTRA strike in full effect, this is not a good time to announce or sign new projects, which is precisely why the “Barbie” sequel also remains in limbo.

Maybe Gadot could be Barbie now?
