The singer took to Instagram to reveal what she believes is prejudice against her. “Until my court date, I will post the DISGUSTING & DISGUSTING JUSTICE used against me by the PROSECUTOR to get the conviction they so desperately want, DESPITE THE EVIDENCE THEY KNOW EXISTS.”
The post on IG was accompanied by long white text on a black background. The “It Doesn’t Matter” singer explained her court case and claimed to be pushing herself to “fight for my freedom.”
The Canadian Native spoke with LA County District Attorney George Gascón. He wrote:
“Dear George Gascon, I write this message with great humility, love and respect for the extraordinary stand you have taken in fighting for justice for Black and Brown minorities.”
He continued to pursue his case. “Today, I take the stand as an innocent Black Man, wrongfully convicted of a crime I did NOT commit. I have seen 2 district attorneys from your office by the name of Kathy Ta and Alex Bott illegally abuse their power to hide and suppress any exculpatory evidence that exonerates me or increases my innocence. I was completely robbed and deprived of a fair trial.”

During Gascón’s plea, he shared that his next day in court was May 8 after his trial had been postponed for months. Tory asked for a new trial accusing the original of being unsatisfactory.
“On May 8, my lawyer will argue a motion for a new trial. Not only do I owe it to myself to fight for my freedom, but I owe it to my six-year-old son, my family, my fans, and most importantly, the hundreds of thousands of Black and Hispanic minorities who cannot fight back enough. for themselves.”
Tory complains about his years of involvement with the court system. “For three years, the prosecution has manipulated a false narrative that left me with no choice but to expose and bring to light the practices, back-door deals, and unfair systems used to illegally convict me and countless other minorities. We chose you because of your outstanding excellence in making just and correct judgments in the justice of colored people.”

The singer ended his long letter by appealing to the District Attorney. “Mr. Gascon, I come to you today as a wrongly convicted person, asking neither for sympathy nor for mercy, but for you to do only what is just and right according to California law and, above all, in the eyes of God .
In a separate post, the “LUV” singer also shared a voicemail she left for Gascón pleading for a “fair trial.” He asked his followers to tell the DA how they felt and tag him in the post.
“EVERYONE, please tell @gasconforlada that I deserve freedom and a fair trial. If this JUSTICE can happen to ME, it can happen to many more MINORITIES who don’t have the finances or a VOICE to speak for you.”
