Kelce offered X’s condolences and solidarity to the victims of the mass shooting at his team’s Super Bowl victory parade.

“I am saddened by the tragedy that occurred today,” the NFL star wrote. “My heart goes out to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and has been affected. KC, you mean so much to me.”

In the comments, one fan thanked Kelce, writing: “Thank you, Travis. No one in a million years thought something like this would happen. You all have brought joy to the fans and the kids……..they love you all……as we all do. Prayers for healing for the injured and comfort for the family of the deceased.”

At a press briefing, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves provided an update on the tragic events at Union Station in Kansas City. He confirmed one death and 22 injuries and emphasized ongoing efforts to determine the full extent of casualties and identify the deceased.

“Three people have been arrested and are under investigation for today’s incident,” Graves said. “For now, we don’t have a motive.”

Expressing disappointment, the police chief added; “I am angry with what happened today. People who come to this festival should expect a safe environment.”

The shooting during the march tragically coincided with the anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, which occurred six years ago on February 14, 2018, which claimed the lives of 17 individuals.

Fred Guttenberg, the parent who lost his daughter Jaime in the Parkland tragedy, expressed deep sadness when he returned from visiting her grave on Valentine’s Day.

In response to the tragic shooting outside Union Station after a march and rally, the Kansas City Chiefs released a heartfelt statement expressing how saddened they were by the “senseless” violence.

The statement read: “We are deeply saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred outside Union Station at the end of today’s march and rally. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and all of Kansas City.”

The team disclosed that all “players, coaches, staff and their families are safe and accounted for” and expressed gratitude to law enforcement and first responders.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared a prayer for Kansas City on social media, echoed by his wife Brittany, who condemned the violence as unacceptable in her Instagram story.

“Shooting is never the answer. Praying for Kansas City & America in general, this is gross,” Brittany wrote.

In another post, he added: “So embarrassed and disappointed in this, the Super Bowl win will never be the same because of this, it’s devastating. Lives were lost and people were injured during the incident [supposed] be a celebration. Terrible and traumatizing. Many prayers for the families involved.”
