Catch Me Up, Darling: What Happened On The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Set?
In late August following a Variety profile written about the film’s director Olivia Wilde, actor Shia LeBeouf followed up with the outlet, issuing a statement contradicting Wilde’s statement that he had been fired from the production.
LeBeouf sent an email to Variety in which he shared his side of the story. He also sent a screenshot of his 2020 text sequence publication with Wilde.

Speaking about LeBeouf’s alleged dismissal from the film Wilde said, “I say this as someone who greatly admires his work, his process does not fit the ethos I demand in my productions. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require an aggressive energy, and personally I don’t believe it’s suitable for the best performances,” he began, “I believe that creating a safe and reliable environment is the best way to get people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and the actors to protect them. That is my job,” Wilde concluded.

Following LeBeouf’s departure from the film, which he said he left of his own free will, Wilde sent him a video in which he tried to get LeBeouf to reconsider his decision. Wilde’s message was recorded two days after LeBeouf’s departure. (per The Blast)
“I don’t think I’m ready to give up on this yet,” she began her message, “and I, too, am heartbroken and I want to think about this…”
Wilde and the film’s lead actress, Florence Pugh, allegedly did not see eye-to-eye on the set as well.
Pugh kept his distance from Wilde at the Venice Film Festival over the weekend. According to one of our reports, Pugh and Wilde did not speak to each other during the event and they remained far apart in any of the photos.

What about Harry Styles And Chris Pine?
The alleged feud between Wilde and Pugh turned out not to be the only couple that reportedly clashed with each other on set.
The internet’s collective radar went off after footage of lead actor Harry Styles allegedly spitting on Chris Pine’s leg as he returned to his seat at the festival, began circulating on social media.
Pine can be seen looking at his feet right before Styles takes his seat, and Wilde’s expression clearly changes.
Twitter exploded with reactions to the footage that had been saved in gifs. Not only do fans watch the gif on a continuous loop, but they also view the clip from different angles!
Pine, 42, and his representatives are NOT happy with the rumors about what social media has dubbed “spitgate.”

His rep released a statement earlier today that read, “This is a story that makes no sense – a complete fabrication and the result of an online allusion that is clearly deceptive and allows for foolish speculation,” it began. “Just to be clear Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama where none exists.” (per The Blast)
Social Media Weighs In
Users monitoring the situation on the ‘bird app’ reacted to the statement. Some fans are skeptical about its authenticity.
Twitter user @StepheniePears write“If Harry hadn’t spat on Chris Pine would their PR team have released a statement saying no it didn’t happen because we are disgusted by this? Pine is a very professional man who holds himself back. Style is very disrespectful.”
@miniCoopDeville tweeted a photo of Lea Michele and wrote, “I when it’s time to read that statement from Chris Pine’s rep.”
