It looks like Victor Wembanyama is trying to keep his cool after one of his security guards slapped Britney Spears at the Catch restaurant at the ARIA Hotel in Las Vegas.
The NBA star was walking with San Antonio Spurs security into the restaurant when the pop star saw him and wanted a picture. Although she previously claimed he “cummed” on her from behind, security footage shows the 41-year-old singer patting her on the shoulder, as Britney said in her statement.
Although he was “struck in the back” by the security guard, it is not clear whether he hit his face or he hit his hand, which flew back into his own face. In any case, law enforcement officials did not press charges and Britney herself has said that she is still a “huge fan” of the French basketball player.
Even so, he was trolled online after making his disappointing NBA debut on Friday, and it looks like he’s trying to keep a low profile going forward.

Although Victor Wembanyama was the number one overall pick in the NBA. However, he has decided not to keep a low profile after falling out with Britney Spears last week. After being drafted by the San Antonio Spurs and making his NBA debut during a Summer League game over the weekend, Wembanyama told reporters on Monday that he wants to focus on his basketball career and avoid any distractions from the media, via People magazine.
“In the past month, I think basketball was less than 50% of my schedule. I can’t stand it. I know it was a special moment in my life, but I’m glad it’s over … I just want to play,” said Wembanyama via Tomer Azarlyas reported by Sports Illustrated.
The French athlete previously spoke to reporters last week when he explained what happened that night from his perspective. He claimed that he was “tapped” from behind in a video shared by KENS reporter Nate Ryan on Twitter.

“I saw the news clearly,” he said in the video. “I woke up to some phone calls. Something happened a little while I was walking with some security forces to some restaurants. We were in the hall and there were a lot of people so people called me clearly.”
He said he remembered “someone” calling his name repeatedly, despite his security team urging him not to stop. “The man grabbed me from behind,” he continued. “I didn’t see what was happening because I was walking straight and they told me ‘Don’t stop.’ But that person held me from behind, held my shoulder. He grabbed me from behind so I just knew that security pushed him away.”

In her own statement, the “Hold Me Closer” singer gave her side of the story. “I recognized an athlete in the lobby of my hotel when I was on my way to dinner. I then went to a restaurant in another hotel and met him again,” he explained. “I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success. It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.”
“I am aware of the players [sic] statement where he said ‘I grabbed him from behind’ but I just patted him on the shoulder,” he wrote. “His security then handed me my face without looking back, in front of the crowd. Almost knocked me over and caused my glasses to come off my face. “
He also went on to say that he has yet to receive an apology, writing, “I have yet to receive a public apology from the player, his security or their organization,” he wrote, adding, “I hope they will…”
However, in a second statement, the “Toxic” singer added that he is still a big fan of the athlete. “Anyway, I’m still a big fan of NBA players … it’s not his fault he’s safety he ran over me … damn it!!!” he wrote.
