Is Justin Edison Really Gone?
TMZ reports that Justin Edison, Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard, who was a key figure in the Tory Lanez trial is technically not missing. The Los Angeles Police Department told the newspaper that there is no missing person case open for Megan’s bodyguard.
According to a recent report from the outlet, “That doesn’t necessarily mean she’s not being accounted for at this time — but her alleged disappearance has yet to rise to the level where police need to classify her as such. We have also reached out to the district attorney’s office for comment … no word yet.”
TMZ first reported that Justin had allegedly disappeared and police were said to be on the case since December 17, 2022. The Shad Room which broke the news earlier reported that a separate source familiar with the situation insisted Justin’s own attorney had not heard from him since Thursday.
The entertainment outlet quoted Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, as saying that Justin had disappeared: “We recently learned that Justin Edison disappeared before he was scheduled to appear in court. The LAPD is investigating her disappearance, and welcomes any information on her whereabouts.”
ABC 7 reports that police are looking for Edison, though this report is based on attorney quotes.
Justin is scheduled to testify in the trial of Lanez, who is accused of shooting Megan in the leg after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in 2020. Tory has pleaded not guilty to grossly negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in in the vehicle.
Further details about Edison’s disappearance were not immediately released. This comes after former best friend and assistant Megan Thee Stallion testified on Thursday.
Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, could face more than 22 years in prison if convicted of all charges. He could also be deported back to his native Canada. The rapper has had mixed and major label hits since his career began in 2009, with his last two albums reaching the top 10 on the Billboard charts.
