The WWE star has been open and honest with his fans over the years, but he might be even more open as he says he’s been thinking about writing a book based on the journal entries he keeps.
“I keep very detailed and meticulous notes about my life, and my Uncle Bret inspired it,” Neidhart told Slam Wrestling. “My uncle, I think since we lost my Datuk Stu, Bret has been the father of our family ever since. He taught me a lot about following your journey and enjoying these special moments.”
Even though Neidhart is busy with other aspects of his life, he still tries to stay in touch with her. “I write to him, even on my travels, I write him long emails and things to document my feelings – not just in a journal, I like to write to him, tell him how I feel,” she explained. “It’s funny because a few years ago, we found some old letters that my Uncle Owen had written, and they were beautiful letters about his journey in WWE, how much fun he was having, and what things were like in Europe. You will never forget our incredible journey.”
The WWE star also opened up about the body image issues she faced years ago, which she says even led to an eating disorder. “When I started being myself and not worrying, you know, worrying about what other people thought of me, that’s when I started doing my best work. I told Nikkita [Lyons] that when I was in NXT … I was like, ‘I love your body. Like, you have the body of a person like that’,” he said in an interview.
“I was like, ‘People love that.’ I said, ‘You don’t realize how much men, especially, like women with curves. Don’t feel like you have to change. You look terrible.’ [Lyons] hug him. She likes to be curvy likes to be sexy. It’s a good example to show other women that you don’t have to be skinny. Say you’re skinny, great. But if you don’t, like for me, I’m 160 pounds. I used to be so scared of that number. I used to be afraid to talk about that number,” he continued.
