In her own statement, the pop star admitted that she was “not prepared” to be punched in the face when asking for a selfie. “Traumatic experiences are nothing new to me and I have had my fair share of them. I was not prepared for what happened to me last night,” he wrote. “I recognized an athlete in the lobby of my hotel when I was on my way to dinner. I then went to a restaurant in a different hotel and saw it again. I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success. It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.”
“I am aware of the players [sic] statement where he said ‘I grabbed him from behind’ but I just patted him on the shoulder,” he wrote. “His security then handed me my face without looking back, in front of the crowd. Almost knocked me over and caused my glasses to come off my face. “
“I was surrounded by people all the time. Actually that night. I was surrounded by a group of at least 20 fans. My security team didn’t hit any of them,” Britney added. Sam Asghari also took to Instagram to share a video of Britney interacting with fans on Thursday night, reminding everyone “This is how you treat people.”

“This story is too embarrassing to share with the world but it is [sic] already out there,” wrote Britney. “However, I feel it is important to share this story and urge people in public to set an example and treat everyone with respect. Physical violence is too much in this world. Often behind closed doors. I stand with all the victims and my heart goes out to all of you!!”
“I have yet to receive a public apology from the players, their security or their organization,” he wrote, adding, “I hope they will…” In his Instagram post, he added a separate paragraph that he did not share on his Instagram. Stories or Twitter. “I don’t appreciate it either and I don’t think it’s a laughing matter. Watching players smile and laugh is cruel and demoralizing with the situation,” he wrote, reminding his fans, “I’m 5’3 and he’s 7’4…”
“I appreciate the immense love and support I have received at this time. Thank you to the Las Vegas PD and detectives for their support,” he concluded.
